Pistons' Jerebko and Mascot Hooper to Visit Rochester Third-Graders
They will read to students at University Hills Elementary School.
The Detroit Pistons are coming to town.
Pistons forward Jonas Jerebko will visit University Hills Elementary School on Wednesday afternoon, not to show off on the court in the school's gym, but to share his love of books and talk about reading with the school's third-graders.
It's all part of the Michigan Reads campaign, a partnership with the Michigan Education Association that encourages children to read instead of watching TV. For every five books a student reads, he or she will receive a complimentary Pistons game ticket.
University Hills was selected because of its students' participation in the Michigan Reads campaign online.
Check back later for Rochester Patch's coverage of the event.
