The Avon Bridge, torn apart in February, is starting to be put back together again in Rochester Hills.

The bridge project is the result of advanced deterioration of the bridge discovered in an inspection last year. Avon Road has been closed to traffic for three months at the Livernois intersection; it is expected to reopen in June, about a month before the rebuilding of the Livernois Bridge at the same intersection begins.

With all of the construction going on, I have noticed new traffice patterns, stop signs, etc. However, there is one intersection that could still use stop signs. That is a Mill Street and Diversion just east of First and Walnut. There is traffic coming from under the bridge going west and east from Walnut. The traffic on Diversion has a difficult time trying to make a left hand turn. Stop signs for the east/west traffic would at least give the the traffic on Diversion a fighting chance and lessen the long line of traffic trying to turn left or right.
