The crowd gathered at the finish line of the Brooksie Way half-marathon on Sunday morning cheered as Leah Scharl and Leo Foley embraced; Foley proposed to Scharl as she crossed the finish line.
Leo Foley asked Leah Scharl to marry him as she crossed the finish line of the Brooksie Way half-marathon race on Sunday. Afterward, they were all smiles. She said YES.

Leah Scharl of Clarkston took second place in the women's Brooksie Way half-marathon Sunday, but who's taking bets that's not what she'll remember about this day.

The 34-year-old runner crossed the finish line in 1:25:39, 2 minutes behind race winner Sarah Gryniewicz, and right into the arms of Leo Foley. Foley, who won the half-marathon last year, got down on one knee and asked Scharl to marry him. 

She said yes as the crowd lining the the finish area cheered.
