MI Earth Day Fest Continues Today With Parade in Rochester
Parade, pep rally greet Day 2 of annual festival.
The MI Earth Day Parade will kick off Day 2 of the MI Earth Day Festival. The parade steps off at 11 a.m. Saturday east of the Rochester Mills Beer Co. building at 4th and Water streets and ending at the festival's main stage with a pep rally until noon.
Rochester Police bikers will lead a parade of green walkers, bikers, musicians, performers, drummers, pets, dancers, displays and more.
Lineup for the parade will begin at the activities tent at 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot behind the Rochester Mills building. Marchers may park in any available public parking lot.
The parade route is a half-mile. It will run north to the Paint Creek Trail and follow the trail south to Second Street, then west onto Third Street and north along Water, circling the festival, and back to the main stage.
A pep rally will follow at the festival's Main Stage where prizes will be awarded for best display, costume, (non-motorized) vehicle and kids' entry, and largest/loudest group.

PerformerDescriptionBioTime Rachel Lee Williams Local singer-songwriter performing a mixture of covers and original music. Rachel is a local singer-songwriter who performs regularly at events and venues in southeastern Michigan. She recently released her debut EP "Lock and Key" which is available on iTunes, Bandcamp, and Amazon. 10 a.m. The Pied Pipers Recorder Ensemble The ensemble will be performing music from the medieval, renaissance and modern time periods. The Pied Pipers Recorder Ensemble is made up of fourth and fifth grade students from Baldwin and Musson Elementary Schools. They perform annually at the Michigan Renaissance Festival. 10:30 a.m. Kincer Catallo Private Voice Studio Singer Jennifer Kincer, voice students and professional musician friends will be singing songs of past and present. Jennifer Kincer has been a voice teacher for 16 years and has a long list of performing credits as a singer and actor. Music is generally pop style. Noon Doni Flynn of Fresh 100.3 Earth Day Talent ShowcaseWatch the local community show off their singing voices. You'll hear songs old and new, maybe even an original or two. Fresh 100.3 has brought back to Detroit Doni Flynn for its morning show, slotting her alongside host Jay Towers. 6 p.m.
