The incident happened at a group home in the city on Wednesday.
A 21-year-old Rochester Hills man was arrested Wednesday after he caused a disturbance at a local group home and then punched an Oakland County Sheriff's deputy in the eye.
The incident happened in the 3000 block of Midvale when deputies responded to a report of a resident who was uncooperative with staff members at the home, according to a report from the sheriff's office. Deputies escorted the man to their patrol vehicle; he then became "assaultive" toward deputies, kicking the patrol vehicle and punching a deputy in the left eye, causing injury, the report stated.
The man was lodged in the Oakland County Jail. The deputy was treated and released for his injuries.
