Man Hides in Apartment Basement After Attempted Break-in In Rochester

A man who ran and hid from police officers investigating a break-in at a Rochester apartment building was found to be "highly intoxicated" and in possession of illegal pills, according to a Rochester police report.
The incident happened at 3:50 a.m. Friday in the 300 block of First Street, according to the report.
A resident on the second floor of the apartment complex called police about someone trying to break into the apartment. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man standing in the hallway, the report stated. The man ran from officers and was found hiding in the apartment complex basement. When police located him, they found him in possession of "controlled substances;" he was "highly intoxicated," the report stated.
The man, 32, was a Rochester resident. He was arrested; charges of disorderly conduct and possessing a controlled subject are pending.
