On Halloween, we asked you to post your kids' photos for our Little Pumpkin Halloween Costume Contest. You did — and so did nearly 2,700 others across Patch sites nationwide.

We thought you would want to see the national winner — he's a headless boy from Wyckoff Patch in New Jersey.

We also thought you'd want to peruse the photos of the other nine finalists — it's never too early to start on next year's Halloween costume, right?

And as for the 14 entries on Rochester Patch, we are happy to report that one of them, Sadie Maxwell in a little chicken costume photographed by her mom, Liane, was the winner from our region (a cluster of 12 Patch sites in Oakland County).

Although it's not the whirlwind trip to New York (the grand prize), we're buying a gift card for Liane to show our Patch love. We're also buying a book for her chosen charity, Charlotte's Wings.

    Until next Halloween ...
