1. Dinosaurs at Meadow Brook Theatre
Where/when: Meadow Brook Theatre, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday
Why go: If your kids are obsessed with dinosaurs like mine are, then they will dig this puppet production that is done to a musical score that includes Mozart and Beethoven. This show is good for kids ages 4 through 4th grade.

2. Yu-Gi-Oh 3D: Bonds Beyond Time
Where/when: Emagine Theater, 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Why go: This popular trading card games comes to life in 3D on the big screen. There will be time travel, dueling and the overall defeat of evil. If your kids like Japanese anime, they will love this. This movie is unrated and is 60 minutes in length.
3. Make Button Bracelets
Where/when: Anytime you need a creative craft to do at home.
Why go: All you need for this easy and fun craft is a bag of buttons and elastic cord from the craft store. For four-hole buttons, thread elastic through the two holes diagonally on the opposite corners. Your kids will love coming up with their own creations and making bracelets for their friends.

4. Let's Make Breakfast
Where/when: RARA, 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.
Why go: Your kids ages 3-5 will make breakfast for themselves, set the table and then learn how to clean up after themselves. While they make a healthy breakfast, you can head out for a breakfast of your own, or crawl back under the covers and enjoy the silence.
5. Storytime at Boogie Babies
Where/when: Boogie Babies, 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Why go: This totally fun facility hosts a story time on Tuesday mornings that will make your kids want to come back again and again. Barefoot Books will provide stories, finger puppets, music, dancing and more.
Pricing: The stories are free; admission for unlimited play is $8 for children 2 and up; $6 for children ages 1 to 2 and free for babies under 1 — and for parents.
