Girl, 6, Hospitalized After Pit Bull Attack in Rochester Hills

The incident happened Saturday night at a home on Auburn Road.

A 6-year-old Rochester Hills girl was hospitalized Saturday night after a pit bull bit her in the face and thigh.

According to a report from the , the girl was conscious and breathing but bleeding and in "severe pain" when deputies responded to the home in the 1000 block of West Auburn Road around 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The homeowner told sheriff's deputies the pit bull was a rescue dog. The girl was transported to Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak; Rochester Patch was awaiting an update on her condition Sunday.

Oakland County Animal Control removed the dog from the home, according to the sheriff's report.
