Four-Car Accident Blocks Rochester Road Traffic
Accident occurred north of the Hamlin Road intersection.
A chain-reaction car accident blocked traffic on Rochester Road for about two hours on Saturday afternoon; no one was seriously injured in the crash, officials say.
According to a report from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, an 86-year-old Rochester Hills woman was driving her car southbound on Rochester Road when she "failed to stop in an assured clear distance" before striking a Chevrolet Suburban in front of her. The crash occurred north of the Hamlin Road intersection.
The Suburban, driven by a 42-year-old Rochester woman, was pushed forward into two more vehicles, the report stated.
The sheriff's department and the Rochester Hills Fire Department responded to the crash. The 86-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital, where she was in stable condition, according to the report. The 42-year-old woman and a 10-year-old passenger sought their own medical attention at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, and the occupants of the third and fourth vehicles were not injured, the report stated.

Me too, from the sight of it, we thought for sure someone was fatally injured in the car behind the SUV. What a blessing for her family that she was ok along with everyone else involved.

We drove by right as they were taking the woman out of the car and putting her into the ambulance. Glad to hear she is doing ok!
