Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins 'Closed Forever' in Rochester Hills

Manager says there are no plans to reopen in the city.

It's true — there is one less spot for donuts and ice cream in Rochester Hills.

Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins closed last weekend on Rochester Road. The shop's last day was June 4, and this week the restaurant is completely empty.

Manoj Pagel, manager of the Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins in Pontiac, confirmed the closing. Pagel said the Rochester Road location is "closed forever" with no plans to reopen in the Rochester area.

Rochester Hills officials said Monday they had not been able to reach the company and did not know why it is closed.

The nearest Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins locations are: 600 S. Opdyke in Pontiac (at South Boulevard), and 44603 Mound Road (at Hall Road) in Sterling Heights. Both locations are open 24 hours and offer drive-thru service.

Memo to The Pagel"s, a customer friendly attitude goes a long way to repeat business. I've been in this establishment a few times and never got the feeling they appreciated my business. No suprise to me that they are closed.

And I always found them quite friendly. But, sob, I am going to miss the best iced coffee around. And shall have to go over to Opdyke to use up the money on my DD card. Dang it.

Mary, I agree. The man, I would assume he was the owner, was very nice and patient with us while we decided our order... also gave us bonus donut holes for the kids. I thought it was sweet.

Doesn't surprise me. You'd go in and there wasn't a clean table to sit at. They never kept the lot clean or the windows washed. It was always just a little grimy and it made me worry the back room was that way too.

I liked the owner or the person that worked there. He was polite and respectful. For being old location it was clean. He went above and beyond, asked me if I had kids and gave me munchkins for kids. I wish them well.
