Date Night Options in Rochester

Grab your Valentine: we asked Patch readers where they go for a date night out around town, and here's what they had to say.

It's the season (or weekend) for date nights. Need some ideas?

Two weeks ago, we asked Rochester Patch readers to tell us about their favorite date nights around town. Here's a look at the responses — from dinner and drinks to hot fudge sundaes.

What is your favorite way to spend a date night in Rochester?

"Rojo for dinner, then window shopping."

"Dinner, a dance lesson or dance party at Rochester Ballroom, then a cocktail with friends after."

"We just love Silver Spoon Restaurant for a dinner out, and that can be your evening's event as well."

"My best night out in Rochester so far was a Christmas party at Meadow Brook Hall."

"My favorite date night in the summer was at Sumo: sitting and enjoying food and drink outside. I loved the whole environment being outside watching everyone go by in downtown while it went from sunny to sunset. I love the feeling of being part of the scene and at the same time have space for us."

"Red Knapps milkshake."

"Our favorite date nights in Rochester is dinner at any of our local resturants followed by coffee and dessert at Dessert Oasis then a walk around downtown (this is how my fiance and I spent our first date and how he proposed to me a few weeks ago)."

"My favorite date night would be dinner at Kruse and Muer and maybe a little stroll eating an ice cream cone in the park."

"My favorite night out in Rochester is a picnic at Music in the Park on a summer Thursday night with a milkshake from Sanders. In winter it's dining at Kruse and Muer, and still Sanders for their wonderful hot chocolate to take on a starlit stroll."

"My wife and I have had season tickets at Meadow Brook Theatre for a few years now. Once a month during the play season we go to a play on Sunday afternoon and then pick a local restaurant to eat out after. A regular date afternoon that keeps us going out and supporting local businesses."

"Dinner at Kruse and Muer or wine tasting at Fieldstone, then browsing through the downtown shops, and finally dessert at Sanders or Dessert Oasis.

"We have spent many nights all around downtown Rochester in our single days. At that time we loved hanging out downtown but didn't appreciate it as we do now, two young kids later. So when we can find the time and money, we get all dressed up and go to Rochester Chop House in the back for dinner. After that we will have a few drinks in the front at Kabin Krusers. Then, if were feeling a little frisky, we head down to Fuse for a little dancing."

"We love eating at Kruse and Muer and then strolling in and out of all the great shops."

"Dinner downtown at O'Connors then bounce around to either Rochester Mills or Mr. B's."

"A cup of something delicious at the Bean & Leaf, perhaps something sweet to go alongside, and then a performance by the Rochester Symphony."

"I'm going to stretch a bit further out and say dinner over at C.K. Diggs followed by cocktails at Crust and then see the latest flick at Emagine. Of course, with two young kids these date nights are few and far between."

"Love Emagine and even Crust for dinner ... excellent pizza! Save room for some Poppin' Olive popcorn for the movie and pay the extra money for luxury seating: great date night!"

Every Friday night, my husband & I go to Fieldstone's Winery, then Giorgio's, then Dessert Oasis. On Saturday nights, we go to Fieldstone's, Sherzad, then Dessert Oasis.
