Accident Closes Avon Road During Wednesday Rush Hour

A two-car accident that required help from the Jaws of Life to extricate one of the drivers closed Avon Road for about an hour during rush hour Wednesday in Rochester Hills.

The accident happened around 4:45 p.m. between Adams and Crooks roads.

Two people were transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, according to Rochester Hills Fire Chief Ron Crowell, whose department responded to the scene along with the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

I'm very glad that to read this update. I live in Christian Hlls sub- about 1 block from where the accident was. I heard the sirens while at home. I was getting ready to drive to Southfield, and turned West on Avon and saw the accident. My only prayer was that I hope everyone survived. It looked bad. Glad to know that the people survived.
