Last week, Mark Newman, author of the book "Super Yooper" visited the Delta Kelly 3rd, 4th and 5th graders to tell the story of environmental hero Billy Cooper, a.k.a. the "Sooper Yooper."  From his headquarters in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Billy, possessing none of the typical superhero powers, does everything in his power to safeguard the Great Lakes against the negative forces that threaten our natural resources.  The message is simple, when it comes to the environment, everyone can be a superhero.  Mr. Newman talked about the increasing importance of Michigan waters, and how we all have to fight the battle against villainous issues of toxic and nutrient pollution, invasive species and habitat degradation
