Stoney Creek High School 2012 alumnus Nick Cruz received a second place Infographic of the Year award from the National Scholastic Press Association in San Antonio, Texas, Nov. 18.  This is Nick’s second national award for designs he created working on the student newspaper, The Source. Nick currently attends the University of Michigan and designs for The Michigan Daily. 

In addition, Nick and fellow alumni Matt Pitlock, and Lindsey Scullen received an honorable mention News Story of the Year award from NSPA at the San Antonio convention for their story on the privatization of transportation and custodial services. This story was published in the May 2012 issue of The Source. Matt currently attends Michigan State University, and Lindsey currently attends the University of Michigan. 

The Source, as a newspaper, was named an All-American newspaper for the fifth year in a row by NSPA. You can view The Source online at www.theschssource.wordpress.com.
