Rochester Community Schools Accepting Limited School of Choice Applications

High School students who reside in an Oakland
County Intermediate School District who do not reside within the Rochester Community Schools district boundaries have the opportunity to apply to attend
Rochester’s Alternative Center for Education (ACE), located at 1440 John R Rd., Rochester Hills, for the second semester which begins on January 22, 2013.

There will be 3 seat time waiver openings, and 3
traditional openings at the ACE facility only. Parents who are interested in applying to have their nonresident child
attend Rochester’s Alternative Educational Center, please follow the application procedures below:

Applications will be accepted during the application period, December 17th through January 11, 2013.  Applications will not be available prior to
the start date or after January 11th.

Applications will be available at the office of Student Enrollment, located in the Rochester Administration
Building, 501 West University Drive.  Office hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30-4:00.

Applications will be reviewed for accurate information.  This may involve contacting the student’s current school.

The district must accept eligible applicants (Section 105 of the State School Aid Act MCL 388.1705). Students
will be selected according to a random draw system.

Student’s acceptance is conditional based on review of student’s record of discipline, suspensions, and expulsions.

Parents are responsible for transportation of students to and from school.

Notification will be mailed to parents via US mail January 16, 2013.
