In Loving Memory

Our sweet, little Moose was found Tuesday evening on Livernois Road, just South of Hamlin. I don't understand how someone can hit a dog and just drive on without notifying the animal shelter or Sheriff Deptartment. Maybe it was an inconvenience to stop and let someone know, even though there are houses on both sides of the street. After searching for four days we have some closure but unanswered questions.

So sorry for your loss, and shame on whoever didn't have the integrity to stop and help the animal they hit, or at least attempt to notify the owners. Karma will take care of them, though.

Very sorry. Not all realize that this is a REAL FAMILY member and treat our animal friends as .... well, I am sorry!

I am truly VERY SORRY for your loss.
It hurts so much to lose a pet like your very much loved Moose.
It hurts even more that Moose was hit by a car and that the driver did not stop to notify anyone. That is so wrong on so many levels. I am so sorry that you had to go through that terrible experience.
I will say a prayer for Moose and for your family.
May your pain ease with time.
May your pain be replaced by loving thoughts and celebrated memories of Moose.
Nothing can replace Moose, but maybe rescuing a dog who really needs a home would be something that would honor Moose's memory.
When our dog died years ago, we planted a decorative tree in her name.
It is a dogwood tree. When loved ones have died, we plant a tree or some type of long-living plant. We refer to these plants by name... "Did you water Magic yet? Did you put any fertizlizer on Henry and Chet?
May Moose's loving spirit always be with you in your heart and mind.
A comforting thought:
"On the other side of the bridge to forever... our animals friends wait for us."
May our wonderful loving pets be there for us in spirit today and in heaven forever.

My heart breaks for you. My 'fur kids' (rescues) and I are very sorry for your loss. My family lost a dog while on a weekend vacation out of town. Despite flyers, emails and notices, we never learned of our dog's fate. It affected our family for years.

I am betting you gave Moose the best life ever! No words can help with your loss, but please know that for every selfish creep who would drive off and not do the proper thing, there are 100 other animal lovers who understand and are sympathetic about your loss.

I agree with N. C. Maybe you are not ready to rescue a new pet, but do something special, like planting a tree. I belong to Silver Lake Animal Rescue League. They have fun fundraising events all year long, need volunteers and funding. Vet care for this small group exceeds $5000/month - including donations and discounts from caring vets. Surround yourself with like-minded caring people who appreciate your profound loss. Moose and your family are in our prayers.
