Huntington Ford Provides Scholarship to Rochester-Area Grad Attending OU
Huntington Ford of Rochester Hills has partnered with Oakland University to establish a scholarship for an incoming freshman from one of four Rochester area high schools – Adams, Stoney Creek, Rochester or Avondale.
The scholarship will support an OU student with a four-year renewable award to be applied toward the cost of tuition. In addition to good citizenship, candidates must demonstrate financial need, a passion for a particular subject matter or extracurricular activity and hold a minimum 3.30 GPA. The award this fall covers $10,000.
"I am pleased to be able to support Oakland University as well as one of our own local exceptional students," said Patrick Scoggin, President and Owner of Huntington Ford.
Jacqueline Yee, a Rochester High School graduate, received the Huntington Ford Scholarship. "I am thrilled to be attending Oakland University this fall," she said. "To top it all off, I am extremely grateful to be this year's recipient of the Huntington Ford Scholarship. Mr. and Mrs. Scoggin have made it possible for me to pursue my dream in the legal profession. Their kindness and generosity to form this scholarship and reach out to the greater Rochester community has been life-changing for me and I cannot be more thankful."
The scholarship is renewable for an additional three years for a student who continues to demonstrate financial need, completes full-time credits during each fall and winter semester and maintains a minimum 3.30 GPA.

This is just plain terrific! Mr. Scoggin is an inspirational leader in our community. Our son attended Oakland University and found his experience both in and outside of the classroom to be outstanding. Local businesses helping local students at local universities sounds like a winning combination to me. This is why I am proud to be a part of this community!
