On Monday, November 26, Mr. Lachowski’s fourth grade class was the first class to visit The Rochester Hills Museum/Stoney Creek Schoolhouse. The “brand new” program is entitled: “Life in a Changing Country.” The Baldwin children were asked to think like a historian and use artifacts as well as archival photos and documents to identify questions that historians ask. In addition, they walked to the nearby 1950’s schoolhouse where students worked in teams to explore the interactive iPad Timeline activity. Students examined headlines, fashion, inventions, sports & leisure, toys & books, and music as they virtually travelled through a century (1850—1950). The trip served as a wonderful enrichment opportunity to supplement the district's social studies program.

The staff at the Rochester Hills Museum spent many hours working on the interactive exhibit and it is state-of-the-art. Visitors to their Old Fashioned
Christmas program on December 15th sill be able to experience it for themselves.
